Indonesian agricultural commodities are the second largest supporting sector for the Indonesian economy, with a 13.28% contribution value to the national GDP in 2021. Palm oil, coconut, cocoa, rubber, wood, coffee, cinnamon, and nutmeg are the leading commodities that have a significant role in export trade. However, in its development, these leading agricultural commodities experienced several challenges and Barriers, such as policies that impede access to commodity trade that causes differences in treatment, negative campaigns in global competition, demands from consumers for sustainable products, etc. This situation has encouraged the efforts of each of Indonesia's leading agricultural commodities to compete by applying sustainable principles.
This study, which is a collaboration between LPPM IPMI International Business School and Center for Multilateral Policy Strategy and the Directorate of Trade, Industry, Commodities, and Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, was carried out to identify and provide a complete, comprehensive and reliable picture of the implementation of sustainability in Indonesia's leading agricultural commodities
